Well shit.  I had to choose other.  I mostly base this on not being able to vote for multiple things but wanting/imagining greater variety.  Of course, just how much we can do depends on whether our meetings become regular - as in annually or semi-annually - or if they cover several days.  Hell, maybe regular meetings that occupy a weekend or more?

Tempting as it would be to go to a FSTDT meetup, I'd probably be way too shy to actually attend such a thing. However, I'd say that a combination of games (ones everyone could enjoy, regardless of whether or not they're a regular gamer), movies, food and perhaps a few beers would make for a fun evening.

Also, I'm a bit surprised that no one has suggested an orgy yet.

Yeah, partying/getting wasted seems like the best idea. Another good idea may be to visit a local art gallery or go sight seeing around town (such as DC). Also, I live in Virginia if someone is bold enough to try to make this happen.

Well, we would be having a bunch of small meetups in different areas, depending on who lives where. For instance, I know I am in day-trip driving distance of at least one other member.

I attended one such meetup with members of another forum I visit. Though I kind of lost my excitement for such things when the one I planned turned out to be a bust.

But yeah, any of the above would be fine for me.  I do, however, have qualms about the swimming thing--I wouldn't be able to keep any form of personal protection handy, and while I'm sure most of our forumites are decent people, that doesn't mean there might not be dangerous party-crashers around.

Remember, some of us are petite with no self-defense knowledge.



My issue is, I think there was one member in Melbourne?  Other than that, the nearest member to where I live is Shykid, and the FL panhandle is a good 10-hour drive each way.    I'm a bit too far from other members.

I'd attend if there were some familiar folks also attending. For example, I'd be more comfortable around the main IRC gang (but still somewhat shy). I think I'd be fine if I could have another forumite that I know IRL accompany me.
