I'd root for Japan if that was their team.

Well, we won, so that was nice. Not a particularly impressive match, though.

It's easy when it's 11 vs. 14.

Well, we continue the tradition of starting well. Let's hope we don't continue the tradition of losing short of the final and instead make the title.

We got past Ghana.  Really only the main threat besides the Juggernaut that is Germany.  We beat Portugal on Thursday, we'll get out of groups.

Ironbite-which is better then I thought we'd do

Fuck, I really don't envy Spain for still having to play against Australia.

Was disappointed to discover that England's out.

I normally get to enjoy the misplaced optimism that we will definitely win for a bit longer than this.

I hear America lasted a few more rounds than normal, and as a result spawned a soccer-craze. It's funny because the exact same thing happened here in 2006. The team managed to not suck quite as much as they normally do, and suddenly everyone and their dog is a soccer fan.

Gotta love bandwagons.

A few more rounds?  Uh no.  They've lasted maybe one game more then was previously thought in a group that was gonna be very difficult to get out of.  Instead, Portugal crapped the bed hard and Ghana fell to America.  As long as we beat Portugal and Germany kills Ghana dead, we get out of groups.  Which is better then most people thought.

Ironbite-though I think this year Germany's the team to beat.

Nevertheless, it still created quite an impressive soccer bandwagon, no?

Well then.

How Americans felt after the US team beat Ghana:

Didn't get to watch the last match but apparently Argentina continues to win in the least impressive way possible.
