Identity magazine says that gay and bisexual Kenyans are being lured from universities with promises of jobs only to end up as sex slaves.

Yes, they are exploiting poor desperate young men. The ironic part is where these are homophobes basically having male sex slaves. This is not new in the Middle East. Filipino Women go their for work, too, and often are assaulted by their boss but they aren't protected by laws.

Kenya does have anti-trafficking legislation, as of last year, but because homosexuality is illegal in both the Arab states as well as Kenya the men are unable to report abuse to police.

In July two men were reported to have been arrested for gay sex in Nairobi. In May the Kenya Human Rights Commission accused the police of sexually assaulting gay men in their custody.

There you have it. Making homosexuality illegal makes people more vulnerable to sexual violence.

EDIT: I should add that American churches have funded these homophobic laws.

I confess, I get the giggles when I see that video of Ssempa making an ass of himself with his "Eat Da Poo Poo". I know the grim, tragic & hateful context of the deal but...I dunno...I get a major case of the yuk yuks when I watch that video. Maybe it's the weird combination his broken English, the accent, the "eat da poo poo", the basic obscene insanity of what he's saying. He doesn't sound angry or threatening. He sounds so goofy & befuddled! He sounds like that one bit in BILL COSBY HIMSELF when Cosby talks about his baby's first "poo poo".
