Dick move, yes, but...least, from what I read, he wasn't saying "lynch them queers!" or some such other nonsense.  He can have his beliefs and his views, so long as he doesn't hurt anyone with or because of them.

...are we all that jaded, and do we all basically EXPECT such a degree of unbridled hatred against the LGBT community, that we are willing to see a statement like this one and mark it out as 'not quite so bad' just because it simply says the queers are gross and going to destroy America, rather than Kirk braying for blood?

Hate is hate. Discrimination is discrimination. We can't just say, 'Oh, well, it's not so bad...' to things like this and focus only on the Matthew Sheppards and WBCs of the world. What makes people think they CAN commit atrocities against people of a certain demographic is a lack of justified and appropriate outrage at every successive level of hate beneath 'torture and murder'.

I know you didn't mean it this way, Rav, but I just felt like bringing this up. I'm not picking on you, I swear.
