Wisconsin bill for 7 day work week no overtime
« on: January 20, 2014, 02:03:10 am »
Recently in Wisconsin Sen. Glenn Grothman of West Bend and Mark Born of Beaver Dam have decided that workers need to work 7 days a week with no overtime because unions. The bill text does not seem to be public yet. Here is their rationalizations:

Born: “Here’s an opportunity for folks to work together to get things done in a positive way for the employer and the employee,” Born said. “It just seems like a win all the way around.”

Grothman: “It’s ridiculous when people want to work extra hours why Democrats would stand in the way of that,” he said. “I don’t know why some people want some people to remain poor.”

Some may already know of Glenn Grothman, aka the guy who tried to get rid of overtime for the private sector, repealed the Equal Pay Enforcement Act becuase women get paid too much and no holidays for public sector workers too! All bought and paid for by Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce. Wisconsin’s largest anti-union company to date.
Despite knowing about indoctrination I thought it was a good idea to put a human Reaper near my office. Now I am a sentient husk :(.

Are there no federal laws protecting such things?  Coz there probably should be.

Well shit.  This affects me.  This affects me very badly.

Hey jackass, people usually want to work more so they can get paid more, not because "working is its own reward".  Seriously, it's like he thinks people are house elves.

Does anyone else bet these people are likely in the "traditional family values" type camp (seeing as I doubt they're particularly liberal)? Because working every single fucking day doesn't seem to go hand-in-hand with family life to me.

Traditional family values only apply to middle class, two opposite-sex parents with 2.5 kids and a dog. Poor people don't deserve family life. /fundie logic

The pictures of these two clowns look like they were lifted from one of those Awkward (Whatever) Pictures sites.

But God forbid if we make our congressmen take less pay.
That may be the single gayest thing I have ever read on this board. Or the old one. ;)

The bill is a “slap in the face” to the state’s public labor unions, which lost most of their power when Gov. Scott Walker (R) stripped them of their ability to bargain collectively in 2011

It's gone beyond "slap in the face" now, this a full on skull fucking.

And what about all those little kids?  Shouldn't they be doing something productive with their time?
