ok, uncle guizonde's personnal anecdote time. here is how i knew the law had been passed.
i was walking along with my gf and a friend of hers going through the Capitole (toulousan historical seat of government). waaaaaaay more riot squads than usual (i counted 9 instead of the standard 4). i hear some very bad europop-techno, and see a bunch of people grouped there. seeing flags with stickmen depicting 2 kids and 2 hetero parents. "alrighty, then... some bigots... wonder where the lgbt crowd is". no sooner do i say this that i see one being happy the law had been passed not 20minutes beforehand, and kinda worried about the near-100 strong crowd of bigots, whereas he was alone. we talk a bit, and i went to distract the bigots from him by being flamboyantly camp (the buddy played along for even better effect). i actually shocked a few, and i wish i had stayed for more lulz, but i was pretty late by that point. i bought time for the rest of the lgbt crowd to appear. i didn't know the guy, but i hope he didn't get hurt. at least i distracted the bigots from an easy target, and i finally got to troll them irl.
totally not subtle, but my gf, her buddy, and me laughed so much it was worth it!
yeah, i think it'll be a while yet 'til it's as accepted as women in pants, but it's a start!
