And I don't even like Baldur's Gate that much >_>

Dunno.

It sounds like they're more or less completely revamping Baldur's Gate I and II from the ground up to bring them to modern day standards.

I can already hear the whining -_-

BG2 reinstalled. Once again my swashbuckler shall go on an glorious adventure in the lands of Amn and beyond. Swordfights! Minsc! Rescuing damnsels in distress! Magic and mayhem! Boo! The lovably cute Aerie!

I honestly don't get the appeal of Baldur's Gate 2...

It doesn't look that fun for me.  Perhaps it's because I only discovered these games in the past few years, and thus didn't grow up with them?  Or didn't have any D&D experience until 3.5?
