I am kind of ashamed that I only realized yesterday that the end of the Mayan calender just happens to be on the winter solstice (or summer solstice, I think the Mayans were in the southern hemisphere) almost like it was just alike a normal solar calendar coming to an end.

Of course I don't believe in the apocalypse, well, I do believe the earth and every living thing on it will be destroyed, but only in a couple of millennium by normal solar events, not anything like this.
