There's supposedly a huge market in child sex slaves down along the southern US border. Children from Mexico and other southern countries are either sold by their parents, or falsely promised school or something, and are then put to work a prostitutes in brothels all along the southern US. The kids are kept locked in the back of businesses that are fronts for the brothel and often stay there until they escape or die. Apparently it's not very well known, and consequently not much is done about it.

Mind you this is all stuff I'm trying to remember from something I read/saw regarding the Mexican drug cartels a while back. I might be totally mis-remembering that.

105 children. And that's only a fraction of child sex slaves in the US, let alone the world. And yet people still seem to be under the delusion that sex trafficking is uncommon in wealthy, developed nations.
