Acoustic Versions
« on: July 06, 2013, 08:53:52 pm »
So, what do you think of acoustic versions of songs? Personally, I love them, even when they're weird and definitely not a song one would expect it out of. It's a different sound, and can sound nice, or even just funny in some cases, but it's interesting to hear a different spin on a song.

Here's one! I think it manages to be even more emotional than the original.

That was beautiful.

The general opinion on the more watched video (not used because they re-dubbed the music video and the music video needs a trigger warning for sure) is that this version is a million times better than the main version (the violin adds a lot, imo). In fact, the album this is from (The High End of Low) has, if I recall correctly, six or so acoustic versions, and they're all fantastic (and one, Arma-Goddamn-Motherfuckin-Geddon, has no reason to exist, but it's funny).

If you want to talk acoustic Marilyn Manson, you can't leave out Tony Wiggins.

Ladies and gentlemen, Danzig's bus driver.
Still can't think of a signature a year later.

Danzig's absolutely insane bus driver. Besides for the cut "Abuse" tracks, one of him and Manson's hobbies was going up to couples and giving only one of them a backstage pass to see what would happen. And, yeah, White Trash is kinda odd by being a re-write as well. In case anyone's wondering, the racism and sexism is not supposed to be serious. The original, Cake And Sodomy, was about, well, white trash, and was inspired by flipping from "call-in and donate" TV preachers to "call-in and donate" porno. So they made a country version. Because, irony.

On a non-Manson note:

The best part is the original version is from the disco album.

Yeah, he was. I do love his utterly fitting last name. I'm curious what he's up to nowadays.

I'd be surprised if he was still alive.

I'd be surprised if he was dead, mainly because the people on MansonWiki or Provider Module would know by now, I would imagine.
