Title: Another boycott, this time by NOM
Post by: gyeonghwa on March 21, 2012, 05:01:30 pm
NOM got all pissy at the Starbucks shareholder meeting because the CEO and board of director supported marriage equality in Washington. And now they launched anti-Starbucks campaign. http://www.joemygod.blogspot.com/2012/03/starbucks-ceo-smacks-down-nom.html

I'll boycott Starbucks for them managing to get a contract with the local VA that says they can have a shop where the VA's old pharmacy waiting room used to be and it'd cost the VA multi-billions to buy them out, and for the fact that they were charging rescue workers $130 dollars (http://www.snopes.com/rumors/starbucks.asp) for three cases of water during 9/11.

I'm not a connoisseur.  I doubt I could tell the difference between a mocha from Starbucks and a mocha from McDonalds.

So, in essence, I don't care for Starbucks.  Makes me think of pretentious hipsters.

Divorce denies kids a mom and a dad too. But I don't see straights putting an end to that anytime soon.

Starbucks is a convenience for me. It just happens to be in the places I need to go. I prefer to visit local coffee shops (The atmosphere is better) but they're usually out of the way.

But since NOM is against it, it makes me feel less bad for going to Starbucks.

^And you know what's worse? Denying kids any parents, at all, just because the parents happened to be gay.

For me I don't care where the fuck the coffee comes from as long as it's a coffee beverage, I'll make a note to visit a Starbucks soon just to piss NOM off some more, I already work and shop at JC Penneys.

National Organization for Marriage - whose sole purpose is to destroy gay marriages. They were responsible for Prop 8 as well as shooting down marriage in Maine.

Because of yuppie fucks willing to buy their over-priced coffee just so they can sit and make sure everyone can see them writing their screen plays on their Mac Books.

If the boycott doesn't work the members of NOM have vowed to hold their breath until they turn blue.

Heh, a similar thing happened to Ohio Art (makers of Etch-a-Sketch) after the Romney gaffe.

Republicans: Good for business.
