(Reuters) - Californian lawmakers passed a law on Thursday requiring universities to adopt "affirmative consent" language in their definitions of consensual sex, part of a nationwide drive to curb sexual assault on U.S. campuses.The measure, passed unanimously by the California State Senate, has been called the "yes-means-yes" bill. It defines sexual consent between people as "an affirmative, conscious and voluntary agreement to engage in sexual activity".The bill states that silence and a lack of resistance do not signify consent and that drugs or alcohol do not excuse unwanted sexual activity.. . . Opponents of the bill say it is politically over-reaching and could push universities into little charted legal waters.

they why up to almost half of all rape charges are estimated false.. one of the most falsely reported crime is rape.. not even women take it seriously often, unless they trying to manipulate guys.
Rape is a terrible crime. When a man forcefully rapes a woman against her will and overpowers her in that manner, he deserves to spend many years on prison. Unfortunately, what today is called rape is a very gray area. There are too many angels in the morning who have regrets over the night before. But in these days of feminism, a woman can call rape in any circumstance. Feminism at its core despises male sexuality. Feminism wants to emasculate every man. A feminist would prefer to be artificially inseminated so that they do not even need a man to have a child. Based on the feminist liberalism behind many of today's rape laws, a man should have a legal document signed and two sober and reliable witnesses to ensure that it will stand up in a court of law. And this must be accomplished by the man even if he is drunk or high regardless of the woman's sobriety or lack thereof.
So, this is what sexual liberation has brought to America? No doubt there were rapes decades ago. But, also, decades ago women did not have the same contact with men that they do now. Parents knew who she was dating and when she'd be back. Ladies had limited contact with men. It was not normal for ladies to date this one, that one, and that one over there. Oh, and him too! Women and men now have multiple sex partners and not many people think much of it anymore. Women screamed out about their sexual revolution and burning their bras (I was growing up witnessing this #$%$) and so now they are looked upon as easy or worse, slutty. Who brought this about gals? YOU DID! You laid anything and everything that paid attention to you, you burnt your bras and demanded your rights. In the meantime, you lost the respect of those same men who would have felt protective of you a few years earlier. I don't condone rape, but, you girls partying all night with men you don't know and you also sleep with them. SMH, no sympathy from me.
Bad idea... So the girl has ZERO personal responsibility for her actions and decisions while she is drunk... but the poor guy that gets with her, gets HAMMERED with a sex crime?!??!?! Girls often WILLINGLY do stupid things they regret while drunk... and the next day think there is NO WAY they could have done that of their own accord... and look for someone else to blame. An idea ladies... How about taking some of your own personal responsibility, and not putting yourselves in that position to start with?

I wonder how long until the MRA's come out in droves and try to abuse this law? But other than that I like this too many university's seem to push sexual crimes under the rug so a law targeting it is good in my book.

I'm pretty sure I know why MRAs/PUAs et al are so threatened by this type of legislation: deep down in their impotent little fedora-wearing hearts, they know the only way they'll ever get laid is by force or coercion.
