FSTDT Happiness Generator

So, the forums of Cracked.com have a thread called the Happiness Generator.  It's a thread that exists purely for encouraging thoughts, facts, and the like.  I figured we could use something like it, and so I'm posting this thread.  So, here's what I'm looking for in this thread:

1. Real, encouraging news stories.  Researchers find beer cures cancer, police save puppy from tree, that sort of thing.

2. Jokes.  Puns, knock-knock jokes, traditional set-up to punch-line jokes.  Short and quick, and either very good or very bad.

3. Happy pictures or videos.

And I'm sure someone's thinking of it, so let me nip this in the bud.  I don't want to see anyone posting anything dark and disturbing for the shock value.  It's not that funny, and you look like a jackass.  Just positive stuff here.

Pretty much any album by The Moody Blues.  They're so full of happy/hope that some people just can't take it.  Luckily I'm one of the ones who can, and really like them.  They're good for a bout of depression when it raises its ugly head in my life.

Gives Me Hope was way better before it got filled with people saying "I am getting on alright in my relationship and the fact it is not a trainwreck gives me hope and I need to tell the whole fucking world about this"
