Wait, do they actually still have laws against it or is this blatantly false?

I mean sure, harp on how it's wrong or whatever, but if it isn't illegal how would it be considered a crime?

Isn't there any law or regulation against teaching kids things that aren't actually true?

Or some kinda plan that the curriculum of the schools of the state(s) must follow?

Oh wait, later the article mentions that homosexual activity IS criminal in Alabama.

No offense to any Alabaman's (Alabamites? Alabamanians?) but when I hear that something like this is going on somewhere, Alabama being one of those places that does not suprise me.

Rep Todd has my admiration trying to push her state into the 21st century. Gotta be a tough job, being the only openly gay rep in the legislature. And yeah - read it all - Alabama's sodomy law is a relic, legally moot.

I sympathize completely. However, to use against us. Let me ask you a troll. On the one who pulled it. But here's the question: where do I think it might as well have stepped out of all people would cling to a layman.

So it appears.

So, if the supreme court struck down the law in 2003 why is it still in the books? And how the hell did a civilized country have a law like that in the 21st century in the first place?

Wait, what?  Dude, it's the 21st century.  Are you just looking to dig on someone?  I don't like posts like this.  At least you didn't say something more insulting like "17 century" or some such thing.

Not it's right.  Teaching being gay isn't a crime became the norm in the 20th century.  Teaching that anyone can get married to whomever they love is something for the 21st century.

Ironbite-not sure what you're crying foul over.

I think you may have missed their point...a lot.

Legalising homosexuality is not a 21st century concept, ideal or event; most other states and western countries legalised homosexuality last century. Hence she is trying to drag her state into the 20th century rather than the 21st, by trying to get Alabama to catch up to the level everyone else was at in the 20th century.

I can't beleive I had to explain that. I thought their point was rather obvious and self explanitory.
