They still make Oregon Trail?? Talk about a childhood flashback...
Well, sort of. Oregon Trail 5 was released in 2001 as a remake of Oregon Trail II with some of the improvements made in the previous games. It even lets you (as long as you made the correct decision for age between "12 or under", "13 or older", or "Parent installing for child") sign up for email, phone, AND mail lists regarding The Learning Company's other offers. Offer for registration expires in 2002.
The installation also finishes with an advertisement for 200 free hours of AOL.
For the love of God, please play the MDickie show. I'd love to see more from the worst video game designer named MDickie. The You Testament was never enough.
Hopefully I can get this to install. Somehow when I was a kid, I convinced my mother to pay for the disc being mailed to me. So yes, I'm one of those people who actually gave MDickie money for his work. And I was like, 10. Which should tell you something about MDickie.
I would also like to see/hear you freak out when playing Metro 2033.
Unfortunately, you'll likely never get to hear that. Like I said, this will be text and picture based for a few reasons: I don't have any capture software already installed and I don't want to be fumbling around as a Fraps first-timer for something I'm doing purely for the enjoyment of others. I also don't have any good microphone, so any of my speech would come out pretty crappy. Metro 2033 is one of the OnLive games, so any capturing would also capture the loss in graphical quality and lag problems from a poor connection. Doing a text and picture LP makes it easier to control the content, since I can effectively remove any boring bits without needing to edit a video and I can give you pics of
the best stuff available. And frankly, video LPs are a dime a dozen. I don't really have anything that would properly contribute to the LPing community unless I was doing something that had somehow never been LPed in the past.
Even then, you wouldn't hear me freaking out. I've acted in horror movies and I've recently gotten the job for my second year as a Halloween Horror Nights scareactor after having attended the event yearly since 2006. I've watched enough horror films to accurately predict the scares. Nothing gets to me.
