Feds: Two States may keep their marijuana laws
« on: August 30, 2013, 01:22:31 am »
http://www.newser.com/story/173415/feds-states-can-keep-their-pot-laws.html

Bottom line: Two states that have legalized pot (Washington State and Colorado), are being allowed to keep their laws without interference from the Feds, provided that certain measures are taken (no selling to kids, no interstate trade, etc).

I am okay with this. Other states may use their laws as a model for their own, and it could well start the end of the war on drugs that has costed us stupid amounts of money. The measures are reasonable in and of themselves.

A good start, but we have a long way to go to ending this ridiculous war on drugs.

And this is how a reasonable governmental system deals with conflicting laws.  Gives ground but still stands firm on it's stance.
