Huh.  I'm not really sure how I feel about this.  I get the point they're trying to make, but it almost seems like a five-year-old jumping up and down screaming "pay attention to me!!!!".  It's being provocative for the sake of being provocative.  Atheists have a bad enough reputation as it is...this probably isn't going to make it any better.  Then again, I guess the fundies are going to demonize us no matter what we do anyway.

As much as this seems stupid, I totally get their point. The bible does have some pretty erotic things in it. Lot and his daughters comes to mind. By the way, if you offer your daughters to people you think are rapists, YOUR NOT A GOOD PERSON!

The funniest part is that most of the fundier Christians have sizable porn collections. Then there's the Jesus rule 34 pictures I've seen.
History is full of maniacs, my friend, men and women of intelect, highly perceptive individuals, who's brilliant minds know neither restraint nor taboo. Such notions are the devils we must slay for the edification of pony-kind. Even if said edification means violating the rules of decency, society, and rightousness itself.

I’ve always been a Song of Solomon man, myself.

Let's not forget King David, after all. You won't find their definition of marriage from anyone save Adam and Eve...and yeah, Abraham was married to Sarah, but he also screwed a servant to get his son in the first place. I don't think their idea of marriage was as common as they think it was with their main cast....

Hell, even Jesus had two fathers.
I am too lost for shame
That it moves me unto mirth,
But I can vision a Hell of flame
For I have lived on Earth.

A question for those who've read more of the Bible than I have:
The scenarios being pointed out, the rape, sex, incest, polygamy, whatever have you, are they written about in a way that's meant to be erotic?  Or are they framed in a storytelling way as many other old stories set in a more brutal and oppressive time, dealing with similar themes, are written?

Not that being non-erotic makes it any less nonsense, it's just not sexy nonsense, and the comparison to pornography falls flat.
Jesus had two dads and he turned out okay.

It's non-erotic, but at the same time, it's never explicitly condemned, except in the specific case of David and Bathsheba.  And that's only because David essentially had Bathsheba's husband killed so he could marry her.

After knocking her up, of course.

I LOVE "The Song Of Solomon". It's very beautiful and VERY erotic! A sumptuous love poem full of super-sexy oral-sex innuendo! OOH LA LAAAA!
