Panzermadels is a video game about dating tanks. As revenge for America nuking Hiroshima and Nagasaki in World War II, Japan developed the technology to fit the era’s tanks into teenage anime girl bodies. The plan is for the tank-girls to seduce U.S. Army students into compromising situations.
Yes, it really is as bizarre a premise as it sounds.
So, here’s the deal with Panzermadels — you play a military recruit named Erwin Lemmor who has, for some reason, ended up at a Japanese school where all the other students are tanks. He thought he was there to learn about tanks, but no, it’s a school for educating sentient tanks.
They look like Japanese teenagers, but fire projectiles, visit mechanics for repairs, have brakes that can lock up and have personalities tied to the cultural attitudes of their respective countries during World War II.
If you ever thought "I would really, really want to fuck a T-34 that looked like a teenage girl" then this is the game for you.No, but thanks to you Askold I now know that demographic exists.
Oh come on, haven't you seen picks of those ship-girl hybrids or plane-girl hybrids on the net?Hey man, I know that there is porn or at least pornfic for everything and anything that can be fucked in any possible universe on the net. That doesn't mean I've seen it. Yet.
Well, I'm disappointed. I was expecting a game about dating tanks, but all I'm seeing are generic anime girls. If we can have a pigeon dating sim featuring actual pigeons, there's no reason why this game can't have real tanks.
...I mean, not that I'm into that or anything.
What's next? Flavours of British pudding? Personified turn-of-the-millennium memes? FQA members?
...gentlemen.
I would say this is the weirdest thing I've seen, but I've seen one erog game where all the characters except you are female versions of various historic figures like Oda Nobunaga and Napoleon. (Granted it plays like some weird bastard child of Fire Emblem and Nintendo Wars)

I may be wrong, but I don't believe that Fate/Grand Order is an eroge. For one thing, as far as I know, there isn't a single sex scene in the game, which is... kind of required for it to be an eroge, by definition.

Eroge or not, I'm sure some people still get off on it.

I think you and me are talking about two different games, I can't remember the name of the one I'm talking about, but it's not what you mentioned. And if they are the same game you may have seen the censored version.
To be fair, Rosario + Vampire and Tenchi Muyo are good, even if the former is exceptionally heavy on the fanservice.
I watched Rosario + Vampire. I basically called it Fanservice/Panty Shot and a Vampire.

If we're going by that logic, why don't we just dump every game from Japan ever, plus Borderlands, Skullgirls, Street Fighter, and just about any other video game into a bin marked "sex games"? People get off on those too, you know.
EDIT: Oh, and Overwatch too. And league of legends, I've seen a ton of porn of League of Legends.

They must be different games, then. Because Fate/Grand Order, the only game I can think of with a female Nobunaga Oda, is in no way an eroge.

I guess it's kinda like there being a manga about Simo Häyhä. Who is a woman in it.
...man, what is it with Japan and making historical figures women?

To be fair, women are cute, and men are quite often ugly.
Japan and World War II have a relationship almost as weird as America's obsession with WWII.
Japan and World War II have a relationship almost as weird as America's obsession with WWII.
Nowhere is more obsessed with WWII than Britain, surely? It's almost impossible to get through a day without encountering some mention of or reference to it. That's not even much of an exaggeration.
Actually, I think Japan and the UK are obsessed with World War II for the same reason: it's the last time they really got to be an empire, their last real glory days.
As for the US, it's because World War II was the last time we got to pretend to be the "good guys" fighting against the "bad guys".
Japanese internment camps,
the firebombing of various Italian and German cities (as in, the civilian parts)
and the nuking of two Japanese cities
say yes, pretend. "Not quite as bad as Nazi Germany or Imperial Japan" does not equal "good".
EDIT: Not even bringing up the war crimes of the USSR, who may I remind you, we're on our side.
Yeah, all pretense of being "good" or "a hero" goes out the window when you bring out the atomic bomb, mate. That's "a marginally lighter shade of grey" at best.
"Less Bad" != "Good"
Yeah, all pretense of being "good" or "a hero" goes out the window when you bring out the atomic bomb, mate. That's "a marginally lighter shade of grey" at best.Do you have a better way to end the war? Conventional bombing was both bloodier (napalm really does a number on those wood and paper houses a lot of the Japanese lived in at the time, as it turns out) and didn't have near the same shock value as nukes, invasion would've made conventional bombing look like a scraped knee and blockade would've condemned hundreds of thousands of people (if that) to death by starvation instead of bombs. Most importantly, every one of these options would've resulted in far higher allied casualties. That and dragged the war out even longer. Operation Downfall for example was estimated to force a surrender late 1947 at the very earliest. Honestly, nukes were by far the least bloody way to end the war. Not just for the allies but also the Japanese.
I'm not saying it wasn't effective, or that it didn't prevent casualties. But like Eiki, I despise people thinking of thinking of the USA as "the good guys" because of it. Was it effective? Yes. Did it end the war? Yes. Was it "heroic" or "good"? Like you said, no. It was only (arguably) less evil. Then why is it such a terrible thing in your eyes compared to everything else they did? Of all the actions you could've chosen that sends "all pretense of being "good" or "a hero" goes out the window", why did you go with the thing that ended the war quickly largely through shock value alone? As I said before, the US also levelled Tokyo with napalm, and that had around the death toll of both Hiroshima and Nagasaki combined. Why, for example, is that not the thing that proves the Americans weren't "the good guys"?
In other words Suez happened after WWII and cranky old Tories like you still haven't gotten over it.Japan and World War II have a relationship almost as weird as America's obsession with WWII.

Well it *is* the last bit of history before everything got communistic and boring.
Late 20th century history is dreary as fuck.
In WWII terms like "collateral damage" weren't in common currency, there weren't too many citizens in any of the parties involved who were going to put up much of a fuss over the mass slaughter of enemy civilians and plenty who would have cheered it on.
This doesn't make the tactic of bombing civilian populations to terrorize them any less noxious, it certainly doesn't excuse testing new weapons by blowing up noncombatants with them.
Remember that Japan was probably ready to surrender before Hiroshima and Nagasaki. One of the words in their reply was mistranslated and "no comment" on the demand to surrender became"that is not worthy of discussion."
Some of their army was ready to fight to the death as you could see from their attempted coup, but many knew that they had lost and were against useless bloodshed.
