The Spoon Theory

Those with 'invisible' diseases and syndromes and everything else have probably agonized often about explaining what is wrong with them in a way that someone can start to truly understand.

The Spoon Theory is, as the link shows, a way of explaining it (hopefully) in terms a healthy person can understand.

The Spoon Theory also coincidentally explains my daily life living with chronic pain and depression.

It makes a lot of sense.  I can relate in some ways, but in others, I never would have any idea had I not read that.  Very enlightening.

I read that article a few years ago, but it's still relevant. The bit people tend to not understand is when I explain that interacting with people drains my spoons. It's not because I'm anti-social or because I dislike someone personally, it's because acting "normal" is exhausting.
