It may actually be a small mercy that we didn't beat Australia this time, given that they went crying to the IRB to get them to change the rules when we beat them in 2003 and 2007.
It's quite ironic, really. Lose a world cup final off the boot of Johnny Wilkinson and almost immediately go running to the rulemakers with "suggestions including reducing the number of points awarded for a drop goal"...LOL
Not quite as funny as 2007, when your pack got totally emasculated by the English scrum for 80 minutes, then *as if by magic* there's proposals on the table to "depower the scrum".
Predictable and a bit pathetic, really. At least when we lose, we accept it for what it is...
