Christian News Network - "This is a CHRISTIAN forum!"

BobRumba:

I hear this phrase uttered by a few people but it's never said in a way that makes any fucking sense.

You take Amos, who's currently having an epic meltdown over his assertion that gays and lesbians cannot be monogamous in their relationships, which is true for a bunch of reasons:

1) scripture
2) it's TRUTH
3) a cut-and-pasted article he presented which talks about inflated risk of STDs among gay men in a study from 1988
4) gay relationships are NARCISSISM

Try bringing the guy down to earth to sweep away all this bullshit and he's left with THIS IS A CHRISTIAN FORUM.........

So Christians, in other words, believe that gays can't be monogamous because scripture, it's the truth, a Timothy J Dailey article says gays get more STDs, and narcissism.

And you say, well, it's Amos, are you expecting coherence?  Ah, but you get this phrase from Doug Bristow who can't understand that gays can also be Christians and attend churches; from LadyInChrist, who never seems to have anything to say except she doesn't associate with Bob Rumba's henchmen, and from others.

What, I ask you, are the unifying beliefs of Christians if they're as nutty and scattered as this?

BobRumba:
And since I'm on a roll with my rant, what is the best response to give Amos when he shirks his responsibility regarding burden of proof?

He says gay and lesbian monogamy is a myth.  People call bullshit.  He tells them to prove it.  They tell him he's got the burden of proof since he made the original statement.  He weasels out of it.

I know, I know...the best response is to ignore him.

Just give him enough rope to hang himself.

Two ways to tell - First, stop the conversational a point where any reasonable reader would realize he has no argument, Conversely, consider how his string of mixed caps, period laden, sentence fragments will look after you are banned.

Your end point should be to prove he is a no-nothing whose ideas can be dismissed out-of-hand.

The most irritating thing about Amos is if you tell him you're done with him, he gives you the standard response every single time which is "See ya, wouldn't want to be ya, don't let the door hit ya where the good lord split ya".  And whenever he says that, I'm more determined than ever to not let him have the last word.

"Just slip out the back Jack. ... You don't need to be coy, Roy. "
Give him the last word it only makes him look more out of it
You have made your point. No need to belabor it.
