Mysterious flash of light in Phoenix
« on: March 10, 2012, 08:57:17 pm »
http://ca.news.yahoo.com/blogs/sideshow/unexplained-explosion-caught-live-phoenix-news-broadcast-171534371.html

I found this interesting because I have seen several flashes of light resembling what was caught on camera here. I have no clue as to the cause of them. They're usually way out on the horizon and just give a brief flash with no sound. Any thoughts or theories?

That looks like the flashes caused by my dad pouring lighter fluid on the barbaque. Maybe a littler bigger, but still that quick ball of flamey goodness.

Isn't there a phenomenon known as Ball Lightning? (I see you snickering...) No really, that seems like it could be it, and scientists really don't know as much about Ball Lightning as they'd like.

Can ball lightning occur on clear nights? I think I've seen actual ball lightning before (that or it was a REALLY weird atmospheric phenomena). I think I've seen them on three separate occassions back when I lived out in the country. They were all the same shape... they looked like colored balls encased in a lighter color. I saw red, green, and purple lights that slowly shimmied their way downward, sort of how you'd see a tadpole or sperm move, and then they just vanished.

Those flashes of lights I saw out on the horizon also occurred on clear nights.

An Arizona Republican tried to think. Brain explosion.
I am an old man, and I've seen many problems, most of which never happened.

They stated on my local news that it was a transformer exploding, yet I can't find anything on the internet to confirm this.  Weird.

Minnesota, actually.  They just briefly mentioned that the "Arizona light" mystery had been solved and it was just a transformer.  And I already mentioned where I live in another thread, so that wasn't really a secret.  Unless I'm lying in order to mislead people, that is..... *evil laughter*

Why would aliens blow up a transformer?

...
I read that as the other kind of Transformer (the giant alien robots from outer space) and was awed.
That said, I've stopped trying to anticipate what people around here want a while ago, I've found it makes things smoother.
For I was an hungred, and ye told me to pull myself up by my bootstraps: I was thirsty, and ye demanded payment for the privilege of thine urine: I was a stranger, and ye deported me: naked, and ye arrested me for indecency.
