I'll be honest. This story pissed me off enough that I was seriously considering posting this in Flame & Burn for a moment.

Last week, the Iranian Supreme Court confirmed the death sentence for computer programmer Saeed Malekpour, whose photography program was used without his knowledge, to upload pornography to the internet.
Canadian resident Mr Malekpour was arrested while visiting his dying father in Iran during October 2008. He was held in solitary confinement in Tehran's Evin Prison for a year without charge, according to Amnesty.
He made confessions, which were later televised, to his charges, which according to the EFF include "acting against national security through propaganda" and "production and publication of obscene materials through computer systems".
However, in a letter sent from the prison in March 2010, Mr Malekpour states, he retracted these confessions, stating they had been given under duress after prolonged interrogation and torture by the "Revolutionary Guards Cyber Counterattack" team. He also wrote that he still not been allowed to visit his lawyer.
So this guy is going to lose his life because the fuckheads running Iran think that he should be punished for the actions of other people who merely used his program for porn? You have GOT to fucking be kidding me.

Of course, they would deny that a church-state (based on Christianity) would ever go to these extremes, but I'd be willing to bet dollars to donuts it would end up exactly like this.

Wait...they're allowed to execute foreign citizens? Something tells me Iran literally wants to go to war with fucking everyone else... I'd say "good luck" with that, should it come, but...yeah.

I'm beginning to understand my father's reasoning when he says "We should just nuke the whole damn country"... I'm not ADVOCATING this, but I'm definitely beginning to understand why people think that way.

Wow, I don't even have to read the article to feel outrage over this. However, it does make me glad that I live in a country where we won't face a fate such as that... for now. Just imagine what it would be like here in the western world if our fundies were running things. >_<

It says he's a Canadian resident, doesn't say anything about his citizenship. That said, I'll be off in the Angry Dome.

Does any country intend to do anything to save him or do they not give a fuck? I have a feeling Iran is just trying to start shit with everyone(A-fucking-gain!) and try to provoke a war.

The US is likewise executing foreign citizens. In at least one case without consular access.

You're allowed to as long as no one tries to stop you. Unfortunately that seems to be the way it works.
I wouldn't be surprised if the mullahs want to be invaded. There's the whole jihad/death to the great Satan aspect and they have gained a lot of intel from Iraq.
