Has anyone ever actually accused the Daily Show of being inaccurate? So why is there this idea that it isn't a legitimate news source?

This interview happened. If you think they're faking it, make that argument (you'd be lying, of course, but that's no change). But if it happened, then obviously you must accept its legitimacy as news. You can't dismiss the content of a show because you don't like the show!

A legitimate news source usually can't get away with criticism via funny voices.

But yes, the interview happened, and the interviewer being a comedian doesn't negate what the interviewee said. The satire was in only one half of that conversation.

I think comedy news shows are brilliant! They can speak the truth to power and the rest of the media & special interests can't really muzzle them because "It's just a goofy comedy show"!

Plus, it makes news FUN & easy to digest, like "a spoon full of sugar helps the medicine go down".
