A friend pays his cousins in America to buy his games on Steam and then gift them to him, to buy it directly from Australia is expensive as all hell. At least with digital distribution you don't have area codes.

Except Steam is much safer, the servers actually work, and Valve gives a damn about their fanbase.

True dat.

Great sales, games that can be sold for $10 or less (meanwhile, good luck finding hard copies for halfway decent PC Games for less than $30...), unrestrictive DRM (sadly, some games come with their own DRM) and best of all, it's made by the same company that made probably the greatest team-based FPS game ever :D

Oh, sure, it has its problems.  Boy does it have its problems.  But honestly?  The good outweighs the bad by a lot :D
