Well, mental illnesses are some of the least understood types of illnesses.  People tend to get stupid around things they don't understand or fear.  Maybe someday we'll know more about the brain than the (relatively) teeny tiny amount we do currently.

Israel doesn't want to bomb Iran.  After all, not much of a market for radioactive glass.  They want to take it over to increase the size of Israel.  Perfectly reasonable but stupid as we haven't had a country increase in area since WWI.

Ironbite-USSR doesn't count as that's something completely different.
