source (In French, I couldn't find anything in English on it)
Recently a member of France's ruling UMP party compared the Socialist Party presidential candidate François Hollande to Adolf Hitler. He claimed that Hollande (my own translation) "has rendered himself guilty of supporting the hatred of a population, that of the rich.... this hatred of the rich having been already developed by Adolf Hitler in the case of the Jews".
He also went on to accuse Hollande of "preaching the ethnic cleansing of the rich", because naturally the taxing of the wealthy who choose to live abroad to avoid paying tax on their assets in France is tantamount to the slaughter of millions in brutal conditions.
I suspect that this is only going to make Jacques Béhagues (the original accuser) look like an idiot, but is also nicely symptomatic of the radicalisation of the right across the western world, not just America. The real question is, how long until the Republicans catch up on the idea of calling taxing the rich 'ethnic-cleansing'?
