Title: Kid killed in wood chipper accident.

http://usnews.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2012/04/11/11139382-6-year-old-accidentally-killed-in-dads-wood-chipper?lite (http://usnews.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2012/04/11/11139382-6-year-old-accidentally-killed-in-dads-wood-chipper?lite)

A kid was killed when he was pulled into a wood chipper while his dad wasn't paying attention.

The video in the link shows the wood chipper and the truck involved, though they are covered in tarps. I assume the machines are covered with tarps because they contain the red mush that used to be a kid. Lovely mental images right? Maybe it's because I have curiosity like a cat, but am I the only one that kind of wants to see pictures of the aftermath?

The comments are typical of MSN(meaning full of fail). Plenty of blame flying all over, including people blaming Obama. There's a religious "discussion" that started when a person said they were praying for the kid and his family and another responded by asking why a good, benevolent god would allow this to happen to begin with. The second one was promptly told to shut up and not be arrogant enough to think he would change someone's religious views in a MSN comments section.

How do you blame Obama for something like this?

because if he wasn't a Kenyan Muslim Socialist™, none of this would have happened.

Christ. This is a horrific way for anyone to die, but a 6-year-old suffering through that is just... well, I don't think there's a word to accurately describe how awful it is.

Maybe it's because I have curiosity like a cat, but am I the only one that kind of wants to see pictures of the aftermath?

You'd probably regret seeing them. I doubt the end results were just a bunch of unrecognizable red mush...

Edit: What the fuck?:

How do you know daddy is grieving and not grinning up his sleeve? One down, two to go.

No one who was not retarded would allow a child of 6 anywhere near a wood chipper. Unless they hoped an "accident" would happen. I bet most of you people have never even seen a wood chipper. Let me ask you this: you've started a barbecue grill with charcoal lighter, right? Would you let a 6 year old stand next to the flames holding the can of lighter fluid?

Then you wouldn't let a 6 year old anywhere near a wood chipper.

NO ADULT WOULD DO THIS unless he secretly hoped for the obvious result. I'm telling you, no adult would do this. It wasn't an "accident" unless daddy has an IQ in the lower 80s.

People are so gullible. Tragic accident my butt.

Can't decide if this is a troll or just a moron, but either way, the person who posted it is a jackass.

Have you seen my posts in the disturbing images thread? You probably right on both parts, but what do you think it would look like exactly? I actually tried looking up pictures of wood chipper accidents on Google and I've not found one. I did however find many stories like this and several screen caps from the video of the story. Here's the pictures from this story. I'm not sure whats worse, imagining whats under those tarps or knowing what is. Honestly, if I were them I wouldn't even want to haul those one my tow truck. Same reason I don't like the idea of playing paintball at the local field were the dead body of a 14 year old girl was dumped a few years ago and not found until a year later after the police had gone through almost everywhere else with a fine tooth comb. They were about to open a dam to drain the local river to search there when they found her.

On on of the pages reporting this story a this comment was made(Link (http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/6-year-old-boy-connecticut-killed-wood-chipper-accident-article-1.1059758?comment=true)) Warning though, it's not pleasant, but it does apply to this site somewhat in it's religious nature.

I have seen this twice before. First time was at a coroners autopsy as a medical student, no remains bigger than peanut. Second time as an attending trauma surgeon, that patient lived by jamming a 4"steel pipe into the jaws and stalling the chipper at his calves. He told me how it felt. This poor child felt unimaginable fear and pain. I can only hope God swept him up before that. For his father, have some compassion!! Yes he should not have allowed a 6 year old near the schredder, but we have all made mistakes, and will again. He will live with what happened, he heard the screams, and the sounds.... he needs mercy, strong faith, and a good counselor and still it will take years to heal, if he does."

The comment made me almost puke, and I have a damn strong stomach.

Why the hell would you let a kid near an industrial wood chipper anyway? There are people in the comments of most places this story is posted that are crucifying the father. Really, like he doesn't have enough punishment from his own mind?

There's a rual bus stop right in front of my grandmother's house. One day a substitute driver was making the rounds. One little boy got off and crossed the street so close to the bus that the driver didn't see (I guess they assumed the he ran off with the other kids) the driver put the bus in drive, and ran the kid over.

The driver wasn't charged with anything, but I'm pretty sure they still live with the guilt to this day. And this father will too.

‘Cause six year olds are known for never ignoring their parents breaking past boundaries at a full run.

Because the average intelligence in this country is so high right? /sarcasm

If he went in head-first, it was probably very quick.  Feet first... well... not so much, but at least it probably ended within a second or two.   I'm really hoping.

It says he was pulled in, so I'm assuming head first.

including people blaming Obama.

Yes. Obama rubbed his evil grubby hands together, picked up that child, and shoved him into the woodchipper, laughing maniacally all the way back to the White House.

Oh, I wasn’t quick enough. I actually read the story after posting that and then felt a little foolish because the kid running around wasn’t what led to the accident.  So I went and deleted it. But someone caught it during the window of opportunity.

But, in any case, the article doesn’t indicate that the dad thought the kid should be helping out. Sometimes a six-year-old just wants to help out the grown ups. And then they decide to take the initiative when the grown-ups’ backs are turned. From what the article said, that is all that appears to have happened.

Holy Shit, poor kid. BTW, is it wrong that upon reading the thread line, first thing I thought about was the movie Fargo??

I don’t think anyone who has even heard of the relevant scene in Fargo could keep from thinking about it. We’re all just waiting for someone else to be the first to bring it up so we don’t feel guilty about it. Thanks for that conscience-clearing, nickiknack.

Some parents really believe that a child understands danger and sensible behaviour years before they actually do. A few months ago a neighbour's four-year-old nearly lost his fingers in a domestic wood chipper. His dad thought he was capable of helping.  :( The lad was 'lucky' in that he only lost the skin, and will have nearly normal use of his hand.

Rotten.com has pictures that may give you a clue as to what this certain incident would look like. If you're that f'ing curious. Tho I warn everyone who doesn't know... rotten.com is Not Safe for Life.

As for the story itself... yeesh. Hell of a way to go and condolences to the family.

You haven't seen my posts in the disturbing picture thread have you. One was a picture of a baby whose head was blown up. You don't by chance have a link to the pictures your talking about, do you.

My warning wasn't to you, dear. :P

As for the links I... I'd rather not link them out of the disturbing images thread. For safety's sake. Just look for anything about 'dismemberment' and 'meat grinders'.
