And this is why football fans have bad reps
« on: July 08, 2013, 06:06:32 am »
So...a referee at a Brazilian football game was stoned and then decapitated after stabbing a player fatality...yeah that happened heres a quote from the BBC article about it

Quote
An angry mob stormed the field during the amateur game in the state of Maranhao and stoned Otavio da Silva to death before severing his head.

Police said the murder was in retaliation for Mr Silva stabbing player Josenir dos Santos.

The article itself http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-latin-america-23215676

(Side not is it wrong that I kind of laughed at this due to the audacity of it)

Stoning and decapitating a person is somewhat extreme, but why the hell did a ref stab a player to begin with?

This whole story is just filled with crazy.

Of all the possible options for getting a player of the pitch getting into a fist fight and then stabbing the guy should not even be close to the list. What kind of ref carries around a knife to begin with?

You get in trouble if guards catch you swearing at football games in Ohio. Something about it going against the family atmosphere. Nice to see the state on the right side of crazy for once.

That is completely insane in the opposite direction. Like, I'd wear my Arma-Goddamn-Motherfuckin-Geddon Marilyn Manson shirt or my We're Here To Fuck You Up Motley Crue shirt just to piss them off (something even my high school gives no fucks about).

What kind of ref carries around a knife to begin with?

I don't know where you live, but around here it's pretty normal to carry a pocket knife. While not the blade of choice I'd go in to a fight with (That'd be my AK bayonet), you could conceivable kill someone with one on the larger end.

I myself carry a Kershaw Crown which has a 3 1/4 inch blade.
History is full of maniacs, my friend, men and women of intelect, highly perceptive individuals, who's brilliant minds know neither restraint nor taboo. Such notions are the devils we must slay for the edification of pony-kind. Even if said edification means violating the rules of decency, society, and rightousness itself.

I carry a Swiss Army Knife in my jacket, myself, but still, why is a ref carrying a knife? It's the specific idea that he has one on the job as a ref, not why does he carry a knife.

You live in a hellhole otherwise known as....Ohio. That's not much of a shock.
