Ohhhh boy...
So, I'm playing World of tanks (In a Soviet scout tank.) and making a flanking attack with some of my teammates. Along the route we meet some hostiles and what follows is a battle along a narrow path, both sides trying to hide behind the canyon walls and rocks. Although we lose some teammates we are able to push forwards and one of the enemies trying to get out of our line of sight backs up and falls off a cliff... After having a good laugh I and a heavy tank try to lean on the cliff to get the enemy into our sight and although we finish him off we both fall down as well. (I get stuck for a while but manage to wiggle off... Unfortunately it just drops me lower.)
Pentele!
So, now two tanks are stuck on a narrow ledge between the river and the cliff. And enemy tanks start to show up.
Himputti!
We both take several hits, since we have no place to manouver and absolutely no cover and they are firing from an elevated position. Meanwhile our team is getting killed one by one.
Herttileeri!
Despite all odds we finish off three hostiles who against their better judgement stuck their necks out. (I still have trouble believing that.) Then again the last hostile was an enemy artillery piece that apparently forgot that he can use indirect fire.
Shit just got real.
So, the two of us are still stuck on the ledge, my tank is near death due to the weak armour and the five or so hits I've taken, we can't climb the ledge. We try pushing one tank up but that does not work. Finally we risk going into the river and despite getting the engines wet we just manage to go from one shallow to another untill we find a place where we can get back up.
Things seem to be improving. Except that at that exact moment the last of our teammates dies at our base. Just the two of us left against two enemies.
The heavy goes to guard our base while I charge at the enemy base, finishing off one of the two remaining hostiles on the way. And when I'm 5 seconds to capturing their base the other enemy shows up.
In a British heavy tank.
And he blows me to pieces with one shot.
Friggernaffy!
At this point the timer is close to running out as our heavy finally decides to show up and finishes off the last hostile winning the game with less than a minute left in the timer.
In retrospect staying together would have been the smart choice.
Not falling into a ditch would have been even smarter.
