O'Reilly and I agree on something... please help...
« on: February 08, 2012, 05:52:22 pm »
I... I don't know what to do with myself. The day has come that Bill'O sounds not only reasonable, but has said something I agree with. My brain feels like it's experiencing a 404 Error.

As some of you have likely heard, the group One Million Moms is attempting to boycott of JC Penny because they hired Ellen Degeneres as their spokesperson. Yes, I realize I just cited Failbook; deal with it. Anyways, the punchline here is that Bill O'Reilly of all people is defending JC Penny's right to hire a lesbian, and that same lesbian's right to work for them.

You can't explain that.
Her3tik, you have groupies.

There are a number of ways, though my favourite is simply to take them by surprise. They're just walking down the street, minding their own business when suddenly, WHACK! Penis to the face.

Sure you can.  As abominable as O'Reilly is, he still can see an injustice and work to correct it.  That man isn't totally evil.  Just mostly evil.

Ironbite-which means he's slightly good.

I use to watch Bill'O.  I never agreed with a lot of what he said but he does make sense and asks some good questions sometimes.  His interviews with President Obama have always been fair.

Don't get me wrong, he can be a huge moron sometimes, but he is not the worst person on FOX or the right by far.

I'm honestly not surprised. He's a dick but he's not a complete monster, so he's bound to draw the line somewhere.

Ellen's response is pretty epic.

Quote
“I usually don't talk about stuff like this on my show, but I really want to thank everyone who is supporting me. And if you don't know me very well ... I want to be clear. Here are the values that I stand for. I stand for honesty, equality, kindness, compassion, treating people the way you want to be treated and helping those in need. To me, those are traditional values. That’s what I stand for.”
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Corinthians 13: 4-7

Looks like his pro-big business side is overpowering his anti-gay side.

For a minute there, he sounded like an actual conservative instead of his usual neo-con persona.

Anti-gay side?  O'Reilly was one of the people calling for the President to repeal Don't Ask Don't Tell.

Bill's got a lot of things you can go after him for, like not knowing what caused tides, but being anti-gay is a hard sell.

Bill'O the Clown is an idiot, make no mistake about that.  But he is a human after all and the fact that he has called out people on this issue before is exciting to me.

Ironbite-glad to see he's consistent on that and isn't afraid to take on organizations like this.

Fair enough... Maybe I'm mistaking him with someone else.
