What's your ethnicity?

One of my favorite things in life is finding out where people are from. And I don't mean "Oh, I'm from California". I mean, where does your heritage stem from? What culture does your family line originate in? It's not a racist thing at all- no one ethnic group is better than any other. Difference ad variety are what make us so fun as a species, though, so let's figure out where everyone's from!

I was raised in a very Italian family, but research into my birth mother's surname revealed Scottish ancestry, specifically the McGee family, a sept of Clan MacDonald. I've got Irish ears, though, so I assume my unknown birth father was an Irishman.

I was raised in a mostly African family but our family has several ties in France Ireland and one of the native tribes from Louisiana  I recently(3 years ago) learned that my father's family was from Libya.

My dad's side is German, Polish, and Irish. My mom's is French-Canadian (and this tiny amount of Native American that my mom's happy about, which sounds to me like ancestral rape). I'm about as white a boy as you're going to find.

Most of my family is of Germanic descent (which got some Jewish heritage mixed in there as well from my mom's side), with some Scottish and Irish mixed in from my mom's side as well and some Italian from my dad's side.

There is probably more, but I haven't looked into my mom's genealogical papers recently.

My mother is Indian with a bit of Indian blood from her father's side and and some Indian from her mother's side. My father is Indian but his mother is part Indian. Basically I'm Indian.

Mostly Scottish (McLeod and McLachlan) with dashes of Irish, Welsh, German, English and Aboriginal. If the Folkish Asatru were correct and religion is genetic, I should be worshipping Ogma, not Odin.

My mothers side is half Croatian and half Slovenian, while my father's side is half Irish, quarter English and quarter German. That said, that's only looking at the birth places of my grandparents, I believe I could find quite a bit of Swiss and Italian ancestry if I went back far enough.

Basically, I'm a typical white Australian mutt, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Let's see...

Irish, Swedish, and Finnish on my mother's side; Prussian and Scottish (specifically, the Wallace clan) on my father's side.

I think there's also a bit of Anglo-Saxon, Irish, Polish, and German on my father's side, and probably a few others here and there.

In essence, a mash-up of most of the Northern European barbarian types.

French Canadian, English, Welsh, Native, Jewish, Romani, Hungarian, Czech, Arab... probably some Klingon, too.

The end result is people asking me if I'm Spanish, Italian, Middle Eastern, etc. all of the time.

... But uh... I really am not sure.  I can be pretty confident of English, French, Polish, and Romanian, and fairly sure of Irish, German, Spanish, Moroccan, Iranian, and Russian, with distant rumors of Gypsy, Viking, and Mongol.
Somehow I wound up looking like a pale Italian.  Slightly slanted eyes, roman nose, dark blonde hair, light olive skin.

Ethnical purity in Norway? Forget it, it doesn't exist.
