Wait, Governor Perry used state funds for campaigning!?  So how many Republicans have condemned government spending only to end up loving it when used for them?

I'm from Chicago, and even I find this extremenly unethical.   :o

Eh, 40% approval isn't all that bad, actually. Obama's numbers are floating right around there. After a couple of years, executives tend to take a hit to popularity. He has 30 months to bolster that before the next election.

I'd consider it if it wasn't the lowest in 10 years. Which means he's done something that has really ruffled their feathers recently, which is telling. You have to consider the source, after all.

Yes, that might be mitigating; but the person who had that approval rating ten years ago was Perry himself. He's been governor for 12 straight years.

If I had to guess, I'd say his bid for president and general buffoonery while doing so is probably a major contributor to his decline in popularity.
