Britain's class system is based very much around the urban proletariat and the bourgeoisie, so although there is very much a rural (tory) and urban (labour) voting divide, the country kind of feels like to me "rich people with their country homes"*. "undereducated rural idiocy" isn't much of a thing over here at least in my experience living in a major city in England.
Chav is specifically a stereotype of the urban white working class/"underclass", i.e that we all wear burberry, listen to rap, wear "bling", get knocked up at age 15 andlive off the state.
* yes I'm aware this perception is probably at least partially inaccurate.
