In defense of the attorney... Ethical rules forbid lawyers from telling clients what (not) to do. We can recommend and lay out the consequences of given actions, but in the end, the final decision is the client's. If Sandusky was determined to do that interview, there is nothing the attorney could have done to stop him. (It's also possible the attorney had no idea Sandusky was going to stick his foot in his mouth like that...)
