We already have gay 'civil partnerships' which are virtually, but not quite, marriages. Proud my country and political party is taking the final step and going the route of full equality. There has been the usual screaching from religious groups about it but they are almost irrelevant these days. For some bizarre reason the catholic church keep getting coverage on the issue despite representing less than one sixth of the population - that is assuming everyone of catholic ancestry were to go to church.
The other parties - Labour, Tories and LibDems tried to spin the whole issue as a bad decision for the SNP, or at the very least a good decision handled badly. Bit cynical of them when you consider that Labour and Lib Dems are seriously pro gay rights and the Tories, who are the right wing party, are led by an out Lesbian.
Next steps on the SNP grand plan to destroy good christian Britain.
1) Ending of the ridiculous religious divide in our schools where the Catholic church runs a sizeable minority of our STATE FUNDED schools and have the legal right to hire only catholic staff members.
2) Removal off all Britains nuclear weapons from our soil. For some reason the UK keeps all its nukes a few miles from my house up here in bonny scotland. The English get our oil and we get their nuclear subs.
3) Legalisation of Cannabis. I have a dream. I also have a good dealer so legalisation probably wouldn't affect me but it would be nice not to have to hide my joints behind my back when I spot a cop in the park.
