Also, steampunk. We need far more steampunk games.

Come to think of it. Anything besides high fantasy and modern warfare would be a breath of fresh air at this point.

And WW2. To paraphrase Cracked, I've probably killed more Germans than the entire Red Army.

I have no idea what TTLG stands for, thus I choose to believe it means Towers of Trifle and Lego G-strings.

I have no idea what trifles are, but Lego G-strings sound horrendously inflexible and uncomfortable.

On the upside, it's really easy to turn one into a strap-on.

If Ubisoft made an Assassin's Creed game set in the ancient far east, somewhere around the Japanese Sengoku period or the Chinese Tang or Ming dynasties. I would throw my money at the screen so fast it would explode on impact.

My opinion on Sonic 4: Episode II so far (as of beating Sylvania Castle Zone and getting the first three Chaos Emeralds)...

Browsing Machinma vids on Youtube today, I saw something that I find rather exciting.

A new X-com game, or at least a remake of the very first X-com game.

I think UFO Enemy Unknown and the entire X-com series in general is one of my all time favourites. They could be as hard as anything but they were very well designed, you could blow up the enviroment and it had both length and depth. The other two x-com games that dipped into other genres were really not all that good so I am glad they went back to the squad based game.

It seems like a few old games have been revived and updated recently. I have seen new versions of Jagged Alliance, Cannon Fodder and Syndicate.

Nit-picking, those time periods aren't ancient. And considering most gaming, I'm shocked that the first game actually included Muslims and was set in Palestine/Judea/the Holy Land.

Been thinking about dropping $10 into buying a month of "basic access" to Istaria.

Essentially, it means that I gain access to five characters of any race.  There's more expensive options to be able to do stuff like own land, but that doesn't interest me yet.

The main draw of the game for me?  Playable dragons.  Not anthro dragons.  Not blue-skinned humans with fin-ears.  Actual quadraped true dragons.

They are awesome, from what I've played in the free trial.  You essentially mature as you level up and go through various rites.  It is the only game that I know of that gives me precisely what I want in a dragon game.

However, I'm actually afraid of spending money :-/ even though this is something I want... hmm.

A game with the option of non-automatic billing is pretty much the best way to go about things besides using a pre-paid card and it seems Istaria has both. I'd say go for it and if you don't like it after a month then don't bother with it again.  Personally, a game with interactive housing or property always interest me, I might have to give this a try.

It seems to be mostly manual payment, at least, but I can only justify basic access for one month.

So I got Dark Souls a day ago, started playing it today and two FUCKING skeletons keep on killing me over and over again. Either I'm doing something wrong or this game is designed for post-humans with intellect and reflexes far surpassing mine.

There's a reason the advertisements all said 'prepare to die'. It's meant to be hard as fuck.

There is a reason there is a disclaimer on the start screen stating that the game was made by people of different faiths and means no disrespect to anyone. Also, both Christians and Muslims were the bad guys in that game.
