So much stupid ...
« on: August 16, 2012, 10:38:52 pm »
...It's amazing that this much hypocrisy, cognitive dissonance and sheer stupid can fountain forth from one person like this...

It amazes us that viewers continue to write in to "The 700 Club" seeking Pat Robertson's advice on how to deal with their problems, especially since he's lately been staking out some rather questionable positions, like telling a man to divorce his wife who is suffering from Alzheimer's.

Today a woman wrote in wanting to know why the men she dated always broke up with her when they found out that she had three children that had been adopted from foreign countries, which prompted Pat to declare that it was "because a man doesn't want to take on the United Nations" and that, in general, people should be careful about adopting children because "you just never know what's been done to a child before you get that child; what kind of sexual abuse there has been, what kind of cruelty, what kind of food deprivation" that might cause them to grow up "weird."

Robertson went on to explain that people should be willing to help orphans, as he does, "but that doesn't necessarily mean that I want to take all the orphans around the world into my home" before finally seeming to realize that he was just digging a deeper hole for himself and attempting to change the subject, declaring "I'm in trouble"

So . . . instead of saving these children from continued food deprivation and sexual abuse, it's better to just leave them where they're being abused if only convenience yourself from having to deal with "damaged goods?"

Robinson:  "...a child that had brain damage and grew up weird."

Sounds like he's describing himself.

Pat Robertson is entirely psychotic and needs to be off of television, if not in a mental ward. Seriously, anyone who discourages people from helping abused children is evil.

Oh, let's just rag on adoption now too, huh, Pat? Fuck you. There are children all over the world who need homes, both here in the States and abroad. I would know, I was one of them.
Oh, you take the high road, and I'll take the low road...

So what he's suggesting is that children who are victims of neglect should be neglected, because they're inconvenient?

I think I'm going to puke.

Uh, yeah... I'm ADOPTED.

Dear Pat Robertson:  Piss me off.  I FUCKING DARE YOU.

Just saw this after reading his little mainpage quote about the Sikh temple shootings being the fault of atheism.

So, let me get this straight.

"Pregnant women, don't abort, there's so many childless people who would love to adopt your baby!"

"Childless people, don't adopt, if the mother didn't want that baby, there must be something wrong with it and you don't need that extra baggage!"

What would Jesus Do?

Abandon the meek and the needy children apparently. >_>

Can we put Pat Robertson up for adoption into a different species? Preferably one where the males kill all the young that aren't theirs?

My atheist roommate, who specifically wants to adopt older and "damaged" children because of how unlikely it is for them to be adopted, has more compassion and goodness in her than Pat Robertson. Not that that's saying much.
