Yeah a Democratic Representative from Mississippi wants to do something incredibly stupid.

He wants to rename the Gulf of Mexico the Gulf of America.  No...I'm not kidding.

And the reasoning is because of all the letters he's got from the people he represents.

What about the gulf of California? It doesn't even come in contact with California, being completely surrounded by Mexico. Have they forgotten about that?

Also, a democrat from Mississippi would be considered a Conservative Republican anywhere else.

Technically, it is surrounded by California. Baja California is still California in a geographical and arguably cultural sense. Or we can just call it the Sea of Cortez.

Perhaps, while he's at it, he might want to take a stab at changing his own last name, since it does inspire images of a certain European country.  But that's probably okay, since the vast majority of that country are, ya know, white.
