Unsolved Mysteries
« on: October 14, 2012, 06:20:33 am »
I don't really watch it religiously, but there are a few cases that really break my heart.

Angela Hammond. This happened in 1991, and there have been no updates since. She is very clearly dead. Most likely raped and murdered within hours of being abducted. If you watch the segment on Youtube, you'll see an interview with her boyfriend. He was trying not to cry during it.

Cindy James. This one is just fucking scary. I sort of thought she was unstable and doing it to herself until the end. There is no way she was able to inject herself with morphine and then tie herself up that way. I can't think of much worse than being stalked and harassed and having no one believe you.

Mabel Woods dog kennel fire. Being an animal lover, this one actually made me cry when I saw it on TV. I turned it off right afterwards and had to do something less depressing.

These are just three that upset me, there are plenty more!

And obviously, Robert Stack > Dennis Farina.

And obviously, Robert Stack > Dennis Farina.

Totally.

I only used to watch it for the paranormal episodes though, to be honest.

Me too.

Also, the opening song used to scared the everliving fuck out of me. Just as bad as the X-Files theme.

I dunno, that cat in your avatar looks like he knows a bit more than he's letting on; maybe you should pick up the phone.

When he's not around, of course... :o

Well she is probably thinking about how best to claw my ex's eyes out for putting her in that hat in the first place.

Mom used to watch Unsolved Mysteries all the time.  I have never forgotten how the original theme song goes.

I was just going to post about how I remember the old Unsolved Mysteries theme.  I've not really watched it much since Stack quit being host.   He was just ... Untouchable.

I loved Unsolved Mysteries, the paranormal episodes were freakiest ones.  They scared the shit out of me as a kid.

Loved the Paranormal stories more then the crime ones.  Mostly because nobody got killed in the Paranormal ones.

Ironbite-usually.

Mom saw it the other way.  Not because she liked to see people getting hurt, but because the paranormal stories had too much "weird stuff" that she doesn't care for.

Once those Real Life Crime And Forensics!! shows became more prominent, she quit watching Unsolved Mysteries altogether.
