I was expecting a cosmic horror go-mad-from-the-revelation ending. I attempted to rewrite the ending paragraph because I was so dissatisfied with the original.

That urban legend's been around for decades.

My favorite creepypasta tend to involve ritual "games" with horrible consequences if you screw up. I once tried Bloody Mary as a kid; I didn't see her, but I swear to this day that I saw my head disappear in my reflection (and yes, I know it was just my imagination. Probably).

Here's some shitty ones. The Holders (http://theholders.org/). About 500 or so of the most formulaic and repetitive creepypastas you'll ever read.

It replaces genuine suspense with throwing stuff about how "TEH MURERDER DOOR MAKE U DYE 5-EVAR!!!!!!!!"

They apparently also set fire to buildings with lots of people inside. Jack Chick is playing the long game here.
