Your thoughts on the President's State of the Union address?

Didn't see anyone post a thread about it yet.  Thought I'd step in.  I'm missing it because I'm too busy trying to mediate bitchfights in Skype chats between my friends, unfortunately.
There is light and darkness in the world, to be sure.  However, there's no harm to be had in walking in the shade or shadows.

It doesn't concern you, Sister, that kind of absolutist view of the universe? Right and wrong determined solely by a single all-knowing, all powerful being whose judgment cannot be questioned and in whose name the most horrendous acts can be sanctioned without appeal?

It wasn't this, so I don't care: http://www.cbc.ca/news/world/a-state-of-the-union-address-the-president-is-unlikely-to-give-1.2918934

I just found this gem in the comments section of that article.

I can't tell if it's someone taking the piss, someone being serious, or one of those spam bots that uses the words on a page to cobble together a vaguely relevant engrish spam message. The fact that I can't tell the three apart anymore is getting rather worrying. I'm not sure what we should do once the word salad spam bots are more coherent than the conspiracy theorists. I mean seriously, I understand fucking Timecube better than that post.
History is full of maniacs, my friend, men and women of intelect, highly perceptive individuals, who's brilliant minds know neither restraint nor taboo. Such notions are the devils we must slay for the edification of pony-kind. Even if said edification means violating the rules of decency, society, and rightousness itself.

I saw it and had some mixed feelings. Some of what he said I liked. Some of what he said I liked just as a gut reaction. Particularly about free college. To properly explain it would be a whole thread which right now I don't want to get into. But if we were to look seriously at his ideas, it would help to remember that by the end of the month his party will control neither the House nor Senate.

I didn't watch it or even read the transcript - just went straight to factcheck.org. He didn't spin things too outrageously.

I sympathize completely. However, to use against us. Let me ask you a troll. On the one who pulled it. But here's the question: where do I think it might as well have stepped out of all people would cling to a layman.
