Now that I got the courage to read the article, I can properly voice my thoughts.
First of all, my carnal side is wishing all sorts of harm on them. A slow death followed by an eternity of hell followed by reincarnating into something with a truly terrible fate just so they can experience it again. That's right, I'm actually going to fundie levels of wishing harm on them, and I will admit that fact as part of my humanity. Not proud of it, but still.
Second of all, whatever fate befalls his followers... I hope the leader feels the fate of everybody else's combined. He got them drug addicted and then basically had them do whatever he wanted. He brainwashed them. I won't excuse them of their responsibility, but I will say that he shares everyone's responsibility on this matter, because it was he who pushed them to do so.
It is so sad that human beings can be tricked into thinking something as harmless as a child could bring about the end of the world. It is not surprising, but it is disappointing.
And they are people who have more education than me... that's frustrating.
