“The government of Ecuador, faithful to its tradition of protecting those who seek refuge in its territory or in its diplomatic missions, has decided to grant diplomatic asylum to Julian Assange,” he said, reading from a government communiqué. He added, “There are indications to presume that there could be political persecution,” and said Mr. Assange would not get a fair trial in the United States and could face the death penalty there.
Step down Mr. and Mrs. Politically Correct. It's so easy to be "punk" and "aware" living at home. You can't change shit, you're too self-righteous;you're the bigots you flaunt to loathe.
Life for the sake of life means nothing.
Good.Furthermore, I would like to point out that the Ecuadorian government's actions can be viewed as part of a broader trend of Latin American countries no longer giving a fuck what the USA thinks of them.
This just in:Telling people what their governments are doing is as horrible as murdering someone.

Couldn't they imprison him indefinitely or outright kill him without needing the approval of any court?
Pardon the interruption, good sir/lady; there are aspects of your behavior that I find quite unbecoming, and I must insist most strenuously that I be permitted to assist in resolving these behaviors through the repeated high-velocity cranial introduction of particularly firm building materials.
GIVE ME KNOWLEDGE OR I WILL PUT A CAP IN YO ASS!

Also, Assange isn't American, and therefore cannot be convicted of treason. Assange COULD be tried for espionage.
There are very few problems that cannot be solved with a good taint punching.
