Title: Pruitt: discussion of climate change "insensitive" to hurricane victims
Post by: Tolpuddle Martyr on September 09, 2017, 06:43:38 am
Apparently it's bad form to talk about how hurricanes happen.
Quote
"Here's the issue," Pruitt told CNN in a phone interview. "To have any kind of focus on the cause and effect of the storm; versus helping people, or actually facing the effect of the storm, is misplaced."

...

"All I'm saying to you is, to use time and effort to address it at this point is very, very insensitive to this people in Florida (https://www.gizmodo.com.au/2017/09/epa-head-scott-pruitt-discussing-climate-change-right-now-is-insensitive-to-irma-harvey-victims/).

If we find out that dumb shit we did causes storms that would just cause existential despair!

I hate this conservative deflecting. A gunmen goes on a killing spree in a public place. This isn't the time you talk about gun control.
A couple massive hurricanes cause billions of dollars in destruction and deaths, flooding and people with out homes. This isn't the time to talk about Climate Change.

More proof that it isn't just "da libruls" who can be the overly sensitive snowflakes.
