The stupid, it burns.
The material needs a defender more than the spiritual. If there is a higher power, it can defend itself from the material. Thus denotes 'higher power'.

^ Yeah, I think they believe Hitler was using the real sense of the word, of people from that area. Not his own made up definition of "really, really good looking blond boys...und I mean zat in a totally not gay vay."

It doesn't really frighten me, its much more...amusing.

Interesting story.
They are basing their admiration of Hitler on their hatred of Indian Muslims. They see Hitler and all of his action against the Jews as being right if those same actions were to happen against Indian Muslims. They don't so much idealize Hitler as a person or his specific ideals as much as how he did things.

I can understand their point of view to be honest. Given the unending trouble between Pakistan and India this level of dehumanization of their opponents was bound to happen eventually. They see this all as an inspiring leader who used powerful oration to unite the people of India together and then led them against those they considered enemies in their midst, the Muslim Indians and finally against their external enemy Pakistan.

That said though, I wonder what caused such deep resentment to form between the two cultures. I doubt it is purely religious in nature. Perhaps nationalist Indians feel that they are being invaded by another culture that is supplanting theirs. Given how extreme and powerful Islam is especially compared to a far more peaceful Hinduism I can see Islam gradually becoming more and more dominant.

Much of Hitler’s Indian afterlife is the legacy of Bal Thackeray, chief of the Shiv Sena party who died on Nov. 17.

Thackeray freely, openly, and often admitted his admiration for Hitler, his book, the Nazis, and their methods. In 1993, for example, he gave an interview to Time magazine. “There is nothing wrong,” he said then, “if [Indian] Muslims are treated as Jews were in Nazi Germany.”
Actually, there is plenty wrong with that.
Quote
This interview came only months after the December 1992 and January 1993 riots in Mumbai, which left about a thousand Indians slaughtered, the majority of them Muslim. Thackeray was active right through those weeks, writing editorial after editorial in his party mouthpiece, “Saamna” (“Confrontation”) about how to “treat” Muslims.

Yeah, no. I get it that they have a grudge with Pakistan and Muslims but this is not cool by any standards.
No matter what happens, no matter what my last words may end up being, I want everyone to claim that they were:
"If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you could possibly imagine."
Aww, you guys rock. :)  I feel the love... and the pitchforks and torches.  Tingly!

So we may at some point have a second coming of the Nazi's and Hitler, only this time with a much greater population at their disposal and of course nukes. Let's also not forget the neo-nazis gaining popularity in Greece at the moment. Lovely.

I find this scary in a way, but also very interesting to watch, not unlike a train crash.
History is full of maniacs, my friend, men and women of intelect, highly perceptive individuals, who's brilliant minds know neither restraint nor taboo. Such notions are the devils we must slay for the edification of pony-kind. Even if said edification means violating the rules of decency, society, and rightousness itself.

I hear that she is a popular figure among those of the Libertarian National Socialist Green Party.

Hitler was actually big on eco shit.  IE the reason for wiping out large parts of Poland was to create preserves.

IIRC, Hitler was a vegetarian and a big proponent of animal rights. Tell that to the next PETArd you meet.

The Hitler who slaughtered millions of his own civilians?

The Hitler who ordered old people and kids to fight to the last and get themselves killed for no reason when the Soviet were rolling into Berlin?

They think this guy was a patriot?

Anyone else find it ironic the kids in the story called Gandhi a coward when Hitler committed suicide rather than face his enemies?
