Christ never crucifed and not the son of God, says Iran

The Iranians claim they have irrefutable proof in the year 2000 that they claim will collapse Christianity. Given the track record of Iran and it's leadership's tendencies, I'm taking this with a grain of salt, for obvious reasons.

The same gospel was already known.

Anyhow, if this is the same "Gospel of Barnabas" as the previously discovered manuscripts (which seems likely given the description), it's nothing more than a 14th-16th century forgery designed to prove Christianity is false and Islam is true.

IIRC the Islamic/Quranic belief is that Jesus was one of a line of prophets, and that he wasn't actually crucified, he just made it appear so.

Which is actually similar to the Gnostic Christian belief.

Yeah, Jesus is one of the most prominent figures in Islam. Unsurprisingly, Islam shares quite a few prophets/figures with Christianity and Judaism, like Abraham, Moses, Adam and Eve, etc.
