All I have to say is same people angry over this on the likes of Tumblr were happy over DoAX3 not coming out and Street Fighter V getting censored before it even comes out.

Now its on something they like they get angry.

This might come as a shock to you, but needless female sexualization and non-sexualized lesbian romance are two entirely different concepts.

Context.

I'm sorry, but it doesn't stop being censorship when they censor something you don't like.

Please tell me why Ruby and Saffire kissing needs to be censored?  Please.

I was referring to IanC inferring that the Internet leftist collective (which isn't even a collective) is somehow hypocritical for supporting the content changes of Street Fighter and not mourning DOAX3 not coming out in the West, and then being against homophobic censoring of a kids' cartoon in the UK. These are not mutually exclusive stances.

I don't support Cartoon Network UK's choices, I don't think Ruby and Sapphire kissing needs to be censored and I'm a bit hurt that people would assume that of me.

Censoring Steven Universe for same-sex romance seems like a difficult cause to take up, what with one character being literally a lesbian relationship. And having a race of aliens that are all lesbians (or maybe bi). And with several major plotlines being about some kind of lesbian relationship or another.

There's a lot of lesbianism in Steven Universe is my point.

(also, it wasn't Ruby and Sapphire that got censored, it was Pearl and Rose. You see what I mean about having a lot of lesbians, you can't just guess which couple it was)

Oh right I thought this was something new.  Forgot about the Pearl and Rose fusion dance that is basically Pearl making out with Rose in front of Greg.

I was thrown off by ironbite and forgot it was Pearl and Rose, derp. Still, that's bad too.

Hey don't blame me.  I keep forgetting about Rainbow Quartz's fusion dance.

Ironbite-cause Rose is Steven now.

Remember when Sailor moon was localized for USA and two girls in a lesbian relationship were changed into two cousins? Granted they couldn't edit out all the things about them so the show was left with two cousins who were a bit too close to each other. (Then again, incest always has been less taboo than lesbians in certain parts of USA...)

And I think there was also one character that changed their gender while powering up or dressed in drag or something and they were split into two separate characters.

Or something. I haven't actually watched the show, I've only seen a few gifs on the net, but you can hardly avoid finding out about it if you go on the net and I read about the censorship in it on TVtropes or something. (Actually, I think I first found out about the weird localization thingy in it on FSTDT forum.)
No matter what happens, no matter what my last words may end up being, I want everyone to claim that they were:
"If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you could possibly imagine."
Aww, you guys rock. :)  I feel the love... and the pitchforks and torches.  Tingly!

Incestuous lesbians would be, like, double sin. So the localizers only succeeded in making the anime even more debaucherous.

There were three different character that did that (the Sailor Starlights), and yeah some localizations split each of them in two.

There was also Zoisite and Kunzite, who were a gay couple in the original and Zoisite was turned into a woman in some versions.

(I never even watched Sailor Moon how the hell do I know these things?)

mfw censorship advocates get angry at censorship:

ETA: moving an argument here.

When Sig bans me for posting furry porn it's meaningfully diffrent than banning me for saying "Gay people exist"

Then tell me: what exactly is the difference between censoring sexualization and censoring lesbianism?  It's not like Mika was flashing the camera.

Dear god, I have never seen someone so full of righteous anger over the removal of an ass slap.
There is no plague more evil and vile to watch spread than the plague that is the Von Habsburg dynasty.
