Exactly what it sounds like. I don't know if I want to laugh, cry or straight up facepalm.

Wow, as a former Christian, I'm actually offended by these people preying on people's faith and gullibility for their own greed.
Mockery of ideas you don't comprehend or understand is the surest mark of unintelligence.

What's the point of religion if you can't profit from it?

Here, I was gonna make a short reply but it turned in to me going at this word by word almost.

Hey Ken, those are some good questions, you obviously know the legit questions we're gonna ask you in a debate. You have them memorized as well and any of us do by this point. But we all know you damn sure ain't gonna answer them. At least not truthfully that is. And no, the gospel doesn't answer the questions. That history isn't true and the gospel doesn't prove it true. It is demonstrably false and that has been shown numerous times. Not only influential skeptics and youtube video makers like Thunderfoot and Aronra or such, but most of the members of even this small forum can rattle off a dozen demonstrable falsehoods of the gospel just off hand.

To Eric Hovind and the other dude, no, 3D is not new, groundbreaking special effects. 3D movies have been around for quite a long time, on only recently caught back on. Also, from looking at the trailer, that CGI is also not any "new, ground breaking special effects". It looks like total ass. If you're going for as realistic as possible that is. It looks a bit below the CGI used in Star Wars episode 2 AOTC, and that was what, almost a decade ago now? Pro-tip, just because everybody's flocking to something like 3D doesn't mean it's good.

Another nitpick, but you're not "bringing Jesus to theaters to have an impact". You're bring Genesis, which has not a thing to do with Jesus. Mel Gibson already brought Jesus to theaters with Passion of the Christ. I haven't seen it but from clips and peoples description it's a hours long parade of graphic sado-masochism and a film adaptation of an old play used to stir hate against Jews.

What you are saying is not historically or scientifically true, stop bloody lying, and as you even said, couching it in "stunning 3D and visual effects". (That's also not true, it might be stunning years ago.) You're not using "cutting edge science", you're using trash-science or psuedo-science, and possible outright lies. That's not something your peers are above as has been seen in the past.

The bible is god's "unchanging word"? Are you fucking shitting me? I could come at that from two angles even. On one front there's the many contradictions and inconsistencies in the bible, which seems to be god changing his mind, or maybe people interpreting changes as an excuse to ignore inconveniences. On the other front you has the fact that bible was cobbled together by committee of what books were convenient and throwing out or ignoring ones that weren't. Then stack on the book selection all the translation issues, including shit translations like the KJV.

No, it doesn't make sense after Genesis. The rest can be just as insane or worse in the case of that acid trip of a finale.

Finally, to finish off, if this load of bollocks makes it to theaters I want to go with my friend to watch this. Not as a documentary, as a comedy. I'll probably laugh my ass off at the stupid and piss off other movie goers. I'd fuckin' love it.
History is full of maniacs, my friend, men and women of intelect, highly perceptive individuals, who's brilliant minds know neither restraint nor taboo. Such notions are the devils we must slay for the edification of pony-kind. Even if said edification means violating the rules of decency, society, and rightousness itself.

Oh for heaven's sake, why did they bother? Can they really expect to turn a profit (or prophet) from this? The only audience I can see watching this are evangelical neoconservative followers, with some Catholic viewers. Most of the people I know--especially my Christian friends--are skeptical about religious broadcasting, no thanks to televangelism.

While we're on the subject of religious broadcasting, did anyone here enjoy the History Channel's The Bible? I found it to be over-dramatized and factually incorrect, but my father loved the action. Then again, he gave me an Answers in Genesis book when he returned from a synodical conference, so I have my doubts about him to begin with.
I'm in science to discover and analyze God's wonderful universe, not gripe about how people don't like God.  I believe the creation/evolution debate is a waste of Christian brains (we have them, believe it or not) that could be better spent on making actual things.

Favorite philosophers (out of the ones I've personally read): Jesus, Solomon, Marcus Aurelius, Immanuel Kant

I don't know what happened, but within the last week or so, this is the second biblical movie I have heard of. The other one being Noah.

In a way, I want to watch this. I want to see how Kan Ham manages to squeeze in all the usual cop outs to difficult questions regarding the downright crazy stupidity of the genesis stories while keeping to a coherent narrative require for a movie. Of course I would never pay money to watch it, so I will wait until it gets leaked onto the internet or something.

One of my favorite parts of that trailer though was where they go "following the bible verse for verse starting at chapter 1" and I immediately thought to myself how they will undoubtedly skip the second conflicting account of the creation. Lying right off the bat before it even comes out.

As for profiting off religion, that is pretty much the primary purpose behind organized religion. I thin it was the Scientology guy who said that the easiest way to make lots of money was to simply start a religion. He was not wrong.

I wonder how most moderate Christians would see a movie like this. Most moderates are pretty meh about religion, and having it presented towards them in such a heavy handed manner tends to turn them off. The more zealous ones though, love these kinds of movies because their critical brain shuts off and their confirmation bias kicks in. They will see it as the divinely inspired word of god in movie format and drag all their christian friends to see it, and will buy the DVD and show it at home cell meetings and stuff. It is kind of sad really.

Number 5.

I can't afford buying all these consoles to play the next Sonic game.

About these Bible flicks, what made the Classic stuff (the old-time epics of Hollywood's Golden/Silver eras) good was that they were not about evangelizing, they were just good movies presenting a story (spiritual edification being a perk rather than 'the aim').

Gibson's The Passion of The Christ would've been a good movie if they cut out much of the torture parts. Yes, we get it, Mr. Gibson, Jesus went through hell but you know need to be so anvilicious about it! I want my heart/soul stirred, not stomach! DAMN!

EDIT: Added a "not"

The old ones gave you the orgies as well as the maudlin stuff.
