Did the world end 2000 years ago?

So this is a question for Jacob.  Most historians of the early Christian Church today hold that Jesus was most likely an apocalyptic Jew.  His religious beliefs centering around the idea that the world was going to end within his own lifetime, or at least that of his followers.  The Bible clearly supports this view, with Jesus quoted as saying "Truly I tell you, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see that the kingdom of God has come with power." (Mark 9-1)

Since Jesus was God he should therefore be never wrong, but the kingdom of God does not appear to be here yet.  Does that mean Jesus was wrong?  Or are there some 2000 year Jews still around?  Or did the world come to an end thousands of years ago and everyone just didn't notice?

In all honesty, his part of the world was overrun by Muslims. If that doesn't qualify as an apocalypse, I don't know what does.

Okay, so said disciple would only have had to live 600 years or so.

It doesn't concern you, Sister, that kind of absolutist view of the universe? Right and wrong determined solely by a single all-knowing, all powerful being whose judgment cannot be questioned and in whose name the most horrendous acts can be sanctioned without appeal?

Being required by someone else’s religious beliefs to behave contrary to one’s sexual identity is degrading and disrespectful.

That was referring to his death and resurrection, not the end of the world.
